How do you confront the flaky, never on time, socially unaware friend?
Would you/have you confronted them bluntly? Gently? Or do you just let it go because it wouldn't change no matter how much you get upset?
Someone I used to know was like that and it would irritate me to no end! To me, it seems like they are disrespecting those that are waiting on you. 15 - 20 mins is a respectful time I think, but when you are running more than a 1/2 hour late? Not so much! I would tell this person to get their butt in gear, they are not the only one going to wherever we were going and we have other people to think about.
So, how about you? How would you handle this situation?

When my sister was going to beauty school, she would ride with me into town. She would never get up without being called several times and threatened that she was going to be left behind. She caused me to be late several times. Finally one morning I just left and she had to get my dad

I have friends like that and it used to drive me nuts!!! I finally came to terms with that just who they are. If it is something you are going to go so together - give the person a 30 minute earlier date to meet.... then you dont have that stress of them being late... maybe they would be early?
ReplyDeleteIf it is a movie and they ask why you are meeting so early you can say to chat.... then when they are late, you can explain to them that now there is no time to chat. :)
That's a very good idea Sheila! This way if they want to chat before hand, they know that option is there and maybe will show up earlier :)
