2012 Movie Review

This was definitely a movie weekend for me! After seeing New Moon last night, I went with my sister to see 2012 tonight. This movie was also fantastic! It was action packed and the actors were wonderful! In 2012, John Cusack plays the role of a father who tries to save his children from the upcoming flood. Danny Glover plays the role of the last president of the known United States who has to make decisions as to who stays and who goes. Woody Harrelson does a great job of portraying a crazy radio personality. Amanda Peet plays the role of the mother who is divorced from John Cusack and is determined to save her children from what is coming.

The Mayan Calendar stops at December 21, 2012. This is the winter solstice and also when we are supposed to be in the exact center of one of the spirals of the Milky Way Galaxy. This supposedly happens only once every 26 thousand years. The movie depicted the destruction of countries across the globe and what the government was doing to save mankind.

There were several scenes that I was on the edge of my seat watching. Others, as with most action packed movies wondering, what were they thinking? The special effects were amazing!!! I did however wish they put something more into the movie about the Mayan Calendar. As it was though, the movie was 3 hours long, it may be understandable that somethings were not included, but some of the slower scenes could have been removed. So, if you go see this movie, make sure you don't drink too much, because your bladder may not be able to handle it! And you won't want to miss a second of this movie :) I would have to say that this movie is another that is a must see!

For those of you that have seen it, I would love to hear your thoughts!

  1. Thanks for the review. My husband really wants to go see this movie but i was less enthusiastic. I mean, do i really want to see a movie about the end of the world? How depressing! =) So hearing your good review helped! Thanks!
I didn't realize it was so long!
